The Deal

“The Deal” is stated to the student at the very beginning like this:

“You never have to know ANYTHING

that we haven’t learned together.”

This is a non-negotiable part of TRT. This means that if a student hasn’t covered the “th” sound, then they can’t be expected to read the word the. Of course, they always know the word the so they always exceed expectations.

It is a complete joy to watch an angry and nervous teenager literally unfold before your eyes as he realises that you’re not going to embarrass him for something that he’s always got wrong before.
